Campbell Lutyens puts a strong emphasis on charity, having fostered a culture of charitable awareness for more than 35 years.

As a firm, we encourage and organise a broad calendar of charitable events throughout the year  - spearheaded by our Charity Committee, comprising employees from across the organisation, who oversee our efforts globally.

The most significant effort to date was the Marathon of Marathons in 2010. Drawing on the support of our professional networks and Private Equity International, we gathered a team of 230 runners to join 10,000 others and complete the route from Marathon to Athens. Our team raised £1.6 million for various children’s charities.

Additionally, the committee frequently organises fundraising events with donations matched by the company.

Asia office charity fundraising

In late 2022, Campbell Lutyens’ Singapore and Hong Kong offices participated in two fundraising events - including hikes and beach-shirt days - for the Children of the Mekong, raising a total of £15,000. Children of the Mekong is a charity dedicated to the disadvantaged children of South East Asia, supporting them to improve their living conditions, access education, and grow intellectually, emotionally and morally.

City Harvest Volunteering Days

In March 2023, Volunteers from CL joined forces with City Harvest in the fight against food wastage at the charity’s warehouse in Acton. Campbell Lutyens has volunteered at City Harvest for just over 4 years, with our first charity day taking place in February 2019. Since then, 53 CL charity days have been spent at the charity, which partners with food banks, schools, hostels, soup kitchens, community centres, faith groups, and refuges.

The Pineapple Panenkas

June 2022 saw CL colleagues take part in Sport dans le Ville’s charity football tournament. The “Pineapple Panenkas” took the top spot, raising more than £5,000 in the process. Sport dans le Ville has historically supported young people in France but held this tournament with a view to expanding its reach to support young people in Britain.

Alongside our broad range of charity fundraising events, Campbell Lutyens selects long-term charity partners to work with across a three-year period.

Currently, these partners are Jamie’s Farm – which provides a powerful combination of farming, family and therapy through residual farm stays and follow up programs in schools – and Breakthrough New York (BTNY) – which empowers motivated students from low-income backgrounds to graduate from college and pursue a fulfilling career.

Chiltern Hills Challenge

Campbell Lutyens’ avid walking group – the Pineapple Plodders – took part in this 25km challenge around the Chiltern Hills in September 2022. More than 30 colleagues put their walking boots on and made it around the undulating route across Henley-on-Thames, raising over £24,000 for Jamie's Farm in the process.

BTNY Career Days

Our New York office holds in-person “career days” to support BTNY, inviting students from around the city to meet CL volunteers and learn about what they, and the firm, do. These days include networking workshops, mock interviews, and the opportunity for children to research and present on topics of their choice, in a style similar to “Ted Talks”.
