Campbell Lutyens bolsters secondary advisory practice with senior hire

Campbell Lutyens is pleased to announce the further strengthening of its secondary advisory practice with the hiring of Chirag H. Shah as a Managing Director.

Chirag joins the firm’s New York office and brings with him nearly two decades of experience across private equity globally. His focus will be on GP and LP relationships across North America.

Prior to joining Campbell Lutyens, Chirag spent 13 years as an institutional investor leading fund investments and co-investments at top investment organizations, including the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, DB Private Equity, and GE Asset Management. In his most recent role at the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, an $80B+ sovereign wealth fund and one of the world’s most premier investors in private equity, Chirag served as Senior Portfolio Manager where he was at the forefront of key topics in private equity such as continuation vehicles. He began his career in investment banking at Citi / Salomon Smith Barney in New York and Singapore focusing on mergers and acquisitions and financings.

Chirag is also actively involved in the broader alternatives industry. He is an advisory board member of the Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity Finance at The University of Texas at Austin. Chirag recently served on the Global Capital Markets Advisory Council of the Milken Institute and the Limited Partner Advisory Council for SEO’s Alternatives Investments program. He received his BBA and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and sits on the New York for McCombs Council.

Globally, Campbell Lutyens’ secondaries team now comprises close to 70 professionals advising on a wide range of transactions, including continuation funds, tender offers, strip sales, fund financings and limited partnership interest fund sales. Campbell Lutyens has been advising GPs and LPs on secondary transactions since 2000.

Over the last 10 years, Campbell Lutyens has raised and advised on more than $218 billion in private equity, private credit and infrastructure fund placements, secondary advisory and GP capital advisory assignments.
